Windows Updates can be annoying, and there have even been reports of the software installing itself without user consent. Microsoft has heard the complaints, and the company is trying to fix one of the most annoying things about the update process with Windows 10 Redstone 5.

Yesterday, Microsoft released two new preview builds for Insiders and they come with an improved Windows Update experience. Microsoft says this new update experience uses machine learning to determine whether a system is in use or not and the PC will no longer update when you're working or taking a short break.

"We heard you, and to alleviate this pain, if you have an update pending we’ve updated our reboot logic to use a new system that is more adaptive and proactive. We trained a predictive model that can accurately predict when the right time to restart the device is," Microsoft's Dona Sarkar and Brandon LeBlanc wrote in a blog post announcing the new Insider Preview Builds.
