Macrium Reflect Free in my opinion.
You can create images of individual partitions and entire hard disks. It has a great backup engine, and it supports the creation of image file backups directly from the Windows environment and enable the creation of recovery CD.
Also, the free version is flexible and every setting is customizable in depth.

ohhh and a Acronis True Image 2017 licenses giveaway too
so if you win both you can run a string of your own testing to gauge which is better :O:

Oh yeah, another awesome piece of software! I tested an old version (2010 maybe) really impressed!

I also remember the Acronis Secure Zone where you can protect the backup and make secure the access to them.
    Very useful function!
And "Try and Decide" similar to Shadow Defender but I don't know if this module is also available in the new version.

Have always relied on Acronis and Macrium to do the job for me. Have tried some competition but I always went back to both programs. Never did go wrong with both of them.
